ASTHMA, DIABETES AND HEALTHY HEART CLINICS
Appointments can be made with the Practice Nurses to monitor treatment, ensure appropriate medication and offer education and advice on how best to manage your condition. You will be invited to attend the surgery for regular reviews.
NURSE PRACTITIONER
Our Nurse Practitioner Louise Hammond is available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. She has had extra medical training so can prescribe medication. This means that she can treat you for minor illnesses, women’s health, children’s health and contraception issues.
MINOR SURGERY OPERATIONS
We offer a range of surgical procedures performed under local anesthesia.
PHLEBOTOMY SERVICE
Patients requiring a blood test can make an appointment at the surgery at the following times;Tuesdays 8.30 – 12.00 (at our Hoole Surgery)If you are unable to attend this session, please ask for an appointment with our Health Care Assistant on Friday.
FAMILY PLANNING
All the doctors give contraceptive advice in normal surgery time. Appointments for advice and fitting of coils and caps may be made with Dr Ann McNutt. The Practice Nurses can also undertake contraceptive advice and pill checks.
The surgery offer emergency contraception service within the hours of 8.30am to 6.00pm, if your require emergency contraception out of hours please contact the Family Planning Clinic on 01244 356803
MATERNITY SERVICES
Maggie Littler and Cindy Wright - Ante Natal Clinics are held at the Kingsway Children’s Centre one afternoon per week. The Midwife holds relaxation and Mother Craft sessions on Thursday afternoon. These are 4 week courses held at Northgate Arena, and patients will need to contact the Midwife to enrol.
CHILD HEALTH
We hold special clinics for the routine immunisation of babies and toddlers on Tuesday afternoons and at Blacon Surgery on Monday afternoons. The Health Visitors hold an Open Advice Clinic every Tuesday afternoon from 1.30pm to 3-30pm and at Blacon Surgery patients have access to an Open Advice Baby Clinic on Wednesday morning. All mother and babies are most welcome.

OTHER SERVICES
The counsellor and community psychiatric nurse also operate from the surgery premises.
SICK NOTES
A Doctor’s note is not needed for the first seven days of illness. Self-certification forms are available from the Medical Centre or your employer. If you require a sick note after this you will need to make an appointment to see a Doctor.
