David and Louise have both undertaken extra medical training as Nurse Practitioners and can diagnose illnesses, examine, prescribe, make referrals and provide treatment for most medical problems. They are both experienced in treating children, acute illnesses, and providing women's (Louise) and men's (David) health care.
The Practice Nurses hold daily clinic sessions between 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM. Appointments can be made for smoking cessation, chronic disease management and advice, dressings, suture removal, ear syringing, injections, blood pressure checks, holiday vaccinations, cervical smears, well woman and well man checks, health screening and advice on lifestyle. New patients to the practice over the age of 5 years are offered a health check when they register.
The healthcare assistant's role is to assist the GP and nurses to provide care. They can do a number of tasks, such as, taking blood, ECGs, BPs, Health Checks. We have healthcare clinics every day of the week at Fountains.
We have District Nurses attached to the practice who provide nursing care for patients confined to their homes, Wendy Williams, Lisa Latham, Anne Carter and Lowri Evans. They can be contacted on Tel: 01244 319189, Fax: 01244 347940.
